Since undergraduate school the direction my work has been moving has been to a more tonal atmosfpheric Quality. I work derectly, marking drawings and paintings from the Mississipi landscape and i believe the foggj hazy atmosphere that tends to dominate is her most beautiful attribute. Although i work primarily with the subject matter in front of me, i prefer not to copy or be imitative of the landscape, rather i try to allow the painting process to be the primary concern. A mark is a mark and it should state that fact.
